Our 1st
Schotten-Party was on March 11, 2006 at Arthur-Bantle-Hall in Hardt.
Our traditional St-Patricks-Day-Festival is being replaced with the
Schotten-Party and will take place now each year in March.
The first fest in this year was thanks to the lots of helping hands from
the members of our club, the bands and the approving audience a total
success.
The hall was decorated creativ and beautifully. We had great food,
Irish-Stew, grilled scottish Salmon, graved Salmon and lots to drink. Of
course we served among other beverages good old-fashioned Guinness and
Kilkenny. We were also proud to present lots of assorted scottish
Whiskys to taste and enjoy.
Even though there was terrible snowfall that evening many guests came to
visit us and enjoy a cheerful night.
The Caverhill-Guardians started off the evening with their traditional
performance in the mids of the hall surrounded by the audience. They
were supported from our good friends from Switzerland the Swiss
Midland Pipe Band. Together they played well known scottish songs.
After that the band Caldeonix
started with their entertaining act of keltic music on stage. For two
hours they presented their repertoire to the joy of the attendant crowd.
Then the band McPontiac
with their Irish-Folk-Rock composition was another highlight of the
evening. Finally the two bands played a few songs together. The audience
very much enjoyed their performances.
All together it was a great evening worth all the work and effort we had
put into!
We are looking forward to 2007! |
