The scottish costume - our tartan

By the design of kilt and plaid the expert will recognize the wearers membership to the respective scottish clan. There are hundreds of different tartans. Our beautiful green checkered design is the tartan of the clans of sutherland and is called Ancient Sutherland. The Earl of Sutherland, the Clanchief Lord Strathnaver, is our patron. He himself has allowed us to wear his tartan officially. His property is located on the northern coast of Scottland near by the little town of Golspie. The Sutherland Clan is one of the richest Clans in Scottland. Lord Strathnaver owns a unique castle: Dunrobin Castle. Some of our members that where able to visit the castle once, claimed that even the floors and walls are partially covered with the tartan design. On the other hand, the toilet paper seems to be in its usual colouring.
